Indian Olympic Association chief Narinder Batra has said multiple times (before and after the pandemic) that India is very much interested in hosting the Olympics and is looking to host the 2032 games. In fact, IOA has submitted an OFFICIAL bid of interest to International Olympic Committee for the same. Another thing you missed is that last year, IOC officially announced that multiple cities (or even counties) will now be allowed to co-host the same Olympic Games which will greatly reduce the burden from one city or country. As a result of this decision, the 2026 Winter Olympics are announced to be held in two cities of Italy: Milan and Cortina. And besides that, 11 countries (including India) have shown interest to host the 2032 Summer Olympics until now. And this number might even go up once the bidding begins next year.
